Mr.De La Cruz is a distinguished educator and performer whose teaching approach blends innovative techniques, mental awareness, and creativity. His method focuses on deepening students’ understanding of both the learning process and the emotional narrative behind each piece of music. Through his unique "Rules for Practicing," Mr. De La Cruz empowers students to practice effectively and independently, fostering their ability to become problem-solvers and independent learners. His passion for teaching creates an engaging environment where students develop both technical skill and artistic expression.
With a career spanning over 15 years, Mr. De La Cruz has conducted masterclasses at prestigious universities across the U.S. and internationally. His students consistently gain admission to top universities and excel in competitive music environments. He has also managed a highly successful private studio in Plano while serving as a dedicated instructor at PSD. Mr. De La Cruz has performed with world-renowned orchestras, such as the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony, Munich Symphony, Dominican Symphony Orchestra, and Sydney Opera.
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Mr. De La Cruz moved to the U.S. during his teenage years, training under Masao Kawasaki and Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School of Music. He furthered his studies with Sergiu Schwartz and Max Zorin, earning a Bachelor's from Columbus State University and a Master’s in Performance and Education from Penn State University. In addition to his musical expertise, he is a skilled Executive Chef. He often remarks, "Music and food bring me the greatest joy in life, as we cannot live without them."
